STEAM Education without Borders.

Pantala Technologies has partnered with IndigeSTEAM Society, an Indigenous-led organization that builds culturally-relevant STEM/STEAM programming for youth, to improve on-Nation access to education. Indigenous youth are extremely under-represented in STEM education and careers, and COVID exacerbated this situation by restricting travel to and from the reserves, as well the availability of mentor volunteers who could visit the reserves.

Using our Ohmni robots, mentors can now visit a classroom and interact with youth in ways that have never been tried before. Students and teachers can control the robot in a special location as if they were right there in person, all while saving time and cost of travel.

Fall Prevention and Care.

Identifying seniors at particular risk of falling requires access to expert clinical guidance, which is not only scarce, but impractical and costly in rural settings.

Using Temi and PROMOTE – a sophisticated, marker-less motion capture system, developed and tested in partnership with Kinetisense and University of Alberta – we can now conduct clinical assessments remotely without requiring the seniors (or clinicians) to travel long distances. When coupled with targeted activity programs this will not only reduce the frequency and risk of falls but also empower self-care.

Join the dance.

Social distancing does not always have to result in social isolation. Temi, our socially-assistive robot, is making it easier for our seniors at hospitals and facilities to not only stay connected (with their relatives, caretakers, physicians and communities), but also stay active and entertained.

Listen to Debbie, a senior at the Kerby Center, sharing her experience with Temi.

Temi fills the distance at care home.

We brought a half-day of recreation, activities and laughter to the Kerby Centre’s elder abuse shelter– remotely and safely via Temi, the world’s first personal robotic platform.

Pantala partners with Make-A-Wish Canada.

When this wonderful foundation was seeking safer alternatives to kick off their 2020 Advent Calendar of Wishes, our Ohmni robots offered an excellent solution. Watch 16-year old, kid-cancer survivor, Paul, participating at the event via the Ohmni Telepresence robot from the comfort and safety of his own home.
